An Idea Is Born

Danzacultura Mexicana was founded in Tucson, Arizona in 1997 and is a 501(c)(3) organization.  We are dedicated to keeping the knowledge of Mexican culture alive through the arts of dance, sewing, crafts and Mexican history.

Our students learn pride, confidence, performance art and the importance of giving back to the community.

Our Studio

Our studio is located at El Rio Neighborhood Center and Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School

Director

Carmen G. Baron

My primary goal as an instructor is to cultivate the traditional Mexican dances.  My dedication to teach our dances from Mexico and to create costumes for my students has given me the most joyful time of my life.  Danzacultura Mexicana won The Edward R. Murrow Award and The Rocky Mountain Emmy Award in the Historical/cultural program category.
